This picture was taken in Miaoli, Taiwan. I worked on several research projects in Taiwan including my dissertation related studies, and Taiwanese Identity Paper while in Taipei in the north of the island. I also presented my research "Beyond Dyads: Regional Democratic Strength's influence on the Dyadic Likelihood of Conflict" at Sun Yat-sen University at the south of the island in Kaohsiung. Along the way there were many scenic views such as this.
This is me after presenting at the 2014 Texas Triangle IR Conference. I'm happy because my presentation was awesome! Bought the pin striped jacket for 10$ at the thrift store. Ph.D student on a budget.
These fish and I were mutually fascinated with each other. They were at a salon in Taipei, Taiwan and watched me get my hair did before my presentation at the 2013 International Conference on Asia-Pacific Studies – Changes and Challenges in the Asia-Pacific.
